The Guns & Roses program has triggered such a positive response that we are now offering a new course called FUNdamentals of Shotgun Shooting. This course is open to men, women and juniors (10 and up).
You will be taught in squads of 5 by Level 1 instructors along with some very talented volunteers. The guns and ammunition are provided in your registration. You will learn how to safely handle a shotgun, how to load it, how to unload it, how to aim at and shoot moving targets and how to carry it while moving about our facilities. A shooting range can be an intimidating place for those who are new to the sport. It is our goal to introduce you to a safe, friendly atmosphere where you will discover what fun can be had in the sport of clay target shooting.
Events are held on a monthly basis with information about upcoming courses posted here on our website.
Due to the overwhelming response and success of this course it gets booked up within days of being posted. So if you would like to learn how to handle a shotgun safely and how to shoot moving targets from our friendly and knowledgeable instructors. Register today and discover for yourself. Come out, make some new friends and join us in the fun.
For more information email us at: gunsandroses@vancouvergunclub.ca we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

BREAKING CLAYS IS ADDICTIVE!
I am a repeat FUNdamentals attendee. The instructors are volunteers and you can tell that they are happy to see new people get interested in the sport. Each session has been very approachable and indeed fun. I feel like I have learned a lot. After a few sessions you get more comfortable, and get a sense of the type of coaching and type of shotgun that works with you. Breaking clays is addictive! -Dennis
COACHING WAS AMAZING. INSTRUCTIVE, CONSTRUCTIVE AND ENCOURAGING
I honestly did not know what to expect coming into this- perhaps a preconceived idea of what shooting culture might be like, but all of this was rewritten as soon as I started chatting with club members and with other participants.
Our group of four- 3 novice shooters and a hunting veteran, had a great time, the coaching you two provided us was amazing- instructive, constructive and encouraging.
A few different types of shotguns were available to fit our size and abilities and more than enough ammo and targets to keep us busy and hone our skills. -Erland K.
THE COACHING IS FABULOUS
The Guns & Roses events are my favourite way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Whether you have never shot a gun before or have been involved in shooting sports for years, there is always something to learn. The coaching is fabulous, tailored to individual needs, and everyone gets equal time behind the shotgun and on the targets, regardless of experience or goals. The members at the Vancouver Gun Club are welcoming and make you feel right at home. I highly recommend checking it out! -Keltie R. Lang
THE CLUB HAS CREATED A FUN, SAFE AND WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE
Having my first sporting clay experience with Guns & Roses was the spark that ignited my passion for the sport. The Club has created a fun, safe, and welcoming atmosphere with excellent instructors that work with all levels of experience. Learning from the ground up has given me the confidence, and more importantly, the fun to continue to grow in this hobby with so many new friends. I always look forward to the next event. -Marjorie Elliott
I HAD SUCH A GREAT AFTERNOON
I had such a great afternoon at the Guns & Roses event! The event was well organized, we got to shoot in small groups and the instructors were great coaches. The course itself was also really fun with multiple stations and targets to practice different angles. I'm really looking forward to going back! -Jen Vane
